Is mainstream media responding to the shift in its audience, or is the audience responding to the shift in mainstream media? The reality here is mainstream media is starting to tell positive stories about Harris. Reporting is a bit of a stretch. They are not filling their content with a focus on negative Biden stories and an absence of fact based Trump content or pushback on endless Trump attacks.
Okay, Harris. The best thing about Harris is that she gives people hope and motivates them to do things they didn’t think they could or would. Like write this answer. I thought I was done with my last answer. One of the attack during the Trump rally in Pennsylvania, and the conspiracy theories that triggered. You watch Harris and she talks, moves, and interacts with people the same way as Obama. All of these are easily disproven by simply referring to evidence based fact. So how does legitimate media respond?
If the Fox polls are to be believed (and, again, you can’t trust polls), Harris has a 6% lead on Trump. Given it’s Fox, and they have a history of lying, many that have resulted in a collective of over US$1B in damages and settlements, not to mention payouts for toxic shite like sexual harassment, claims by them Harris has a lead of that nature suggests it may be even more.

Can Harris beat Trump? Please. She’d take that prick to the cleaners on any ground. Courtroom, debate stage, policies, personality, style, charisma, cognitive test, spelling bee, whatever. As cowardly as Trump is, this election isn’t just about gaining the unfettered power of a dictator immune to all laws and accountability, or about preserving all his ill-gotten gains. This is about saving his life. He saw what happened to Epstein when he finally got caught and tried to cut a deal to name names. And Epstein’s associate, Jean Luc Brunel, who ‘coincidentally’ died the same way.
If they at least did that, it would eat up the time used to promote whatever other lie is packaged with that kind of misinformation. Failing to fact check all of it, when reporting on it, legitimises the parts that are not fact checked. As a result, the claims that Biden is a criminal with cognitive decline have entered the public domain as, in many cases, alternative facts that gain traction.

And Biden, appearing to cave-in to the false narrative, may have actually been playing the long game all along.
But that’s not what the US currently has. And that’s why it is so divided despite the people having similar concerns founded in woke culture that the least intellectually equipped oppose, even as their opposition harms them. In the end, it comes down to a vote for Equality, Freedom, Justice and Liberty, democracy, integrity, progress and hope, which is Harris, or the opposite, which is Trump.

Now, I’ve written about the unreliability of polls in another answer. They cannot be trusted. And the media will simply interpret data to suit its own agenda anyway. Still, the media is now reporting a shift away from the unbelievable claims that Trump, despite all his convictions, and the mountain of evidence proving what he and his MAGATS are, and the threat they present, is leading. Why?

Once team MAGATS is locked in on Biden, once they have crafted the perfect offensive (in every sense of the word) weapons against him… he drops out. And Harris steps up. Like it was always planned. Something the media should have noticed even if Trump and his MAGATS lack the psychological tools and collective intellect to do so.
Those two things discouraged critical thinking and allowed the burden of taxation to be shifted onto the working- and under- class, the stripping of basic human rights from the most disadvantaged and minorities to roll back Civil Rights Era moves toward equality and justice, and every other vile and toxic thing that has created so much anger and frustration.
Point is, trust is hard to earn, and if something doesn’t feel right, especially if a lie is exposed, no matter how small, it can erode and be lost pretty bloody quick. So when Trump was targeted at Pennsylvania, the media ecosystem was so untrustworthy that Democrats and Republicans were bipartisan in their disbelief of the official versions of events. Nobody trusted it.
And that’ll do. Leave on a positive and all. This answer, like my others, was written to encourage critical thinking and or give folks a giggle. I’m sure some of you out there are gnashing at the bit to unleash something idiot and toxic to gaslight, offend and bully into silence better people, but here’s the skinny: that tells your audience more about your mental health issues that harms your target.

It took me almost ten minutes of watching Harris to figure out why Biden picked her as his running mate. It wasn’t, as some dipshits insist, to win the black and female vote. The reality to the US voters is pretty simple. Most of them are rusted on. The swing voters are the only ones that determine outcomes of elections. No, he picked her because she reminded him of the Obamas.
Really didn’t want to have to do this, but it’s a contributing factor. When JFK was assassinated, there were more Democrats who believed the conspiracy theories than Republicans. Now, decades later, with all the available evidence, the numbers have flipped to the exact opposite. In the absence of information that satisfies the audience, well, people will believe what they want to believe.
The evidence of right-wing extremism leading into violence is clear, because there is so much more of it than on the left, but there is a problem on the left too. If you are not extreme enough in your mindless consumption of lies, or dare to fact check something to prevent undermining legitimate allegations, you will attacked by trolls on the left just as you would by trolls on the right.
Trump’s instincts are to make defamatory attacks on rivals and victims as part of his compulsion to lie about everything in order to conceal his criminal activities and incompetence, and to further whatever toxic agenda he has at the time. His instincts here are to attack Harris. He just doesn’t have anything useful, and his standard misogyny and racism is catastrophically backfiring.
And so we found the mainstream media playing into the MAGATS game, one with rules that applied only to the political left, and which constantly changed. Biden was both an old man, Sleepy Joe, who was incompetent and afflicted by dementia, and a Machiavellian crime lord corrupting the DOJ for his own allegedly toxic agenda. Again, the evidence disproved all of this.
Overturning Reproductive Rights. Undermining Voting Rights. Burning books. Making efforts to end Marriage Equality. Inflicting hell on migrants. Persecuting, transgender people and other members of the Rainbow Alphabet Brigade. Silencing, intimidating, and terrorising the families of kids killed in School Shootings. Racism. Threatening to do more harm if their victims don’t just accept the evil.
Trump and his MAGATS remind me of those pricks. Project 2025 is the ideological rape-kit for that kind of gutter trash. I they don’t get their way, they resort to violence. But here’s the thing, when someone does stand up to them, and they are held to account, they try to cut deals. They rat-out other predators. And Trump knows a lot of them.
This question raises a lot of others, the most obvious being: Can Harris beat Trump? These are not questions that can be answered with a brief skid-mark on the underpants of the social media pages of history. The answer to this one is filled with almost Shakespearian twists and turns, and will leave you ruminating on the nature of the reality to which you ascribe.
In fact, the circumstances were almost identical. That, like the alleged assassination attempt on Trump in Pennsylvania, raised a lot of questions that got unsatisfactory answers, if any, and led to a rise in conspiracy theories. One has to wonder if Crooks was, indeed, a patsy, and the ‘bullet’ that his Trump was just part of a warning shot for the right-wing powers behind the US government.
And this is where you need to ask questions about why Trump makes unsubstantiated claims about things like his Tax records, University transcripts, legal issues, and Medical Records, but will even take legal action to ensure nobody can see the evidence. You know who doesn’t appear to have such alarming issues that may compromise their role as POTUS? Harris.
Pivot! Pivot! Pivot!
Trump and his loyalists have been feeding their half-wit base that false narrative against Biden for years now. To Trump, the Presidency is all about himself, not the people, so it makes sense that he and those like him think about the Biden Presidency the same way. Sure, they hypocritically project the ‘radical’ left accusations, but the focus is mostly on Biden.
Sure, he’s old. And he has a bad diet with no real exercise. Posture sucks, too. But it’s his habit of projecting on others the things he is doing or that affect him are also giveaways. Many people have claimed he’s addicted to drugs like cocaine. Some suggest he has syphilis, multiple sclerosis, or, more likely, a series of mini-strokes that may have been exacerbated by some of the other things.
But despite the evidence, or due to an absence of it, the media responds with what the people want to hear. All of them. Feeding into the distrust. The orgy of evidence against Crooks despite his lack of skill, extremely concerning failures that led to the event, and Trump’s opportunism, dishonesty, and lack of concern for others, made it worse. Instead, it revealed a lot about the state of the population.
If you pop over to YouTube and weed out the easily disproven anti-Trump content, you still find a lot of disturbing, evidence supported information that should have ended Trump’s political ambitions over a decade ago. But most of it is suspiciously absent from mainstream media... until now. Harris is now getting positive coverage, and the public response is stunning.
Aside from evidence that indicates he has a very sordid past involving what looks like inflicting a lot of sexual abuse on women and, it now appears, young girls, Trump also seems to have made many, many bad decisions involving money. The worst of which appear to be deals he made with people in Russia that may explain kowtowing to Putin. This shite can have serious health ramifications.
Her campaign attracted a reported US$100M is 24 hours from over 800K donations. Some folk who were donating to Trump withdrew their pledges. New polls indicate a seismic shift toward Harris and drop in support for Trump that, again, are worth squat. But it’s the response of the media that
Right-wing media is the butt puppet of Trump. He says stupid, they claim whatever it was is genius and echo it. If he unleashes his usual word salad stream of idiocy, punctuated with untruths, utter nonsense, insults and threats that expose serious psychological issues, they play it down, interpret it to suit whatever agenda was the goal, or hypocritically accuse political rivals of those failings.
The differences in alternative theories, however, were along party lines. And quite often didn’t make sense. Trump would not risk his life to stage such an event. Biden would not benefit if Trump got ganked. In fact, only the people with money and dirty little secrets behind the GOP would benefit. The GOP would be more likely to win and wouldn’t be burdened by an uncontrollable, toxic Trump.

Sadly, the toxic agenda of right-wing politics has managed to corrupt democracy for the last 40 years. Even with the evidence of this, and the freely available evidence of their plans and criminal activities, the media (even mainstream) is telling the voters that Trump is going to win. All of this undermines the integrity of democracy by helping to misinform voters.
Yeah. An honest look at his Presidency reveals Trump fucked up big time. He had no idea what he was doing. He increased National Debt, undermined National Security, weaponised and corrupted the DoJ against his rivals and to conceal and get away with his own crimes, and, again, too much more. But the media gives him a free pass to focus on lies told about Biden.
And, again, Harris is literally the embodiment of the majority of US citizens. She combines female, Black, Asian, grew up poor, struggled to get ahead, has a thirst for justice and history of delivering, is empathetic, genuine, and extremely competent. Trump and his ilk, however, are not. They live in an echo chamber, insulated from reality, so toxic it’s sickening no matter how ‘normal’ they think it is.
Because the only gains the political left have ever made have been things that sustain the interests of the rich and powerful, to maintain it, and nothing that threatens that wealth and power. Trump losing this election means he, and everyone (even judges) who have aided him by interfering and obstructing justice, will face the full might of the (independent) DOJ. And justice will be served.
The real concern here is the inability of the people of the US to actually learn and force their political representatives to affect the positive change they seek. You have to remember that the people are largely responsible for the shite mess in which they are mired. The Swamp is the result of their own voting behaviours. Actions that, admittedly, have been manipulated by toxic agendas.
But if we bother to pay attention to reality and the evidence, holy shit! Biden may just be one of the greatest all time Grand Masters of Politics. He stuck it out, all while undoing damage Trump inflicted during the previous administration, and delivering more to advance the interests of the people, until the perfect moment. Seriously, think about it.
And they always could have been. If the media did their jobs with any integrity. The claims were always just projections. And none of it works on Harris. She has a history of holding criminals to account and delivering justice, where possible, to those who seek it. A lot of Trump’s base is, despite their efforts to behave as anti-woke folk, woke. Need evidence?

And the key to his success started with his wife, Michelle. She was a dominating influence on what shaped Obama to make the right decisions, to do the right thing, to contribute the way he did. If you compare the many wives of Trump to the influence of Michelle Obama, you get a very different picture. One where the worst nature of Trump is enabled and escalated without pushback.

That may actually explain why Trump and his mob are so rattled. The minorities suffering under Trump and his ilk, flocking to the hope Harris offers, outnumber MAGATS. This represents a clear and apparent danger to his chances of claiming the 2024 Presidential Election. She also represents the very personification of law and order, US ideologies, the Constitution, and American Dream.
Oh, yes, it’s possible that sound-byte (yeah, I know it’s ‘bite’ but the reason for that is bullshit) was as choreographed as that photo-op and claims Trump was hit by an actual bullet, or the guy that couldn’t shoot for shit got that close while a Secret Service team was set up right under him yet were so useless the alleged would-be assassin could set up there without them noticing in the first place.

Mountains of evidence proving those lies are false. Even the cognitive decline ones. The few examples can be attributed to his stutter, his age and hectic schedules. Because he’s old. Really old. Too old to best represent the majority of citizens. Too out-of-touch with them because he is insulated from reality by his wealth and circumstances.
For a start, the audience might actually be informed with facts. Remember, democracy relies upon informed voters. With the absence of political corruption in the media, politicians would have to offer and deliver on policies to meet the will of the people. Their success or failure would then be reported upon, accurately, and the voters respond with the ultimate employee evaluation.
The people who were conditioned to vote for Reagan set in motion all of the events that lead to the rise of Trump, the culmination and epitome of the toxic culture Reagan set in place as his legacy. It was the source of the defunding of education by 75% since he came to office, and the repealing of the Fairness Doctrine in order to allow right-wing media to lie to its audience.
And then there’s the other factors that may play into the outcome. This is the first time a First Term President has stepped aside. The first, if the party all gets behind her (which will secure another of the Lichtman keys) female candidate. Only the second black candidate. And the fact that the media would have you believe racism, misogyny, bigotry, and toxic self-centred greed is rampant in the US.
Good people vanish from society when they are silenced, one way or another, and what they offer is wasted. Their warnings go unheeded until, decades later, when it’s too late, people wonder why nobody listened. We just get tired of dealing with the pointless idiocy as we seek to speak for those denied a voice, and life’s too short to waste on toxic relationships. Free advice?
Seriously, go have a look at the shite Reagan set in motion to undermine democracy by creating easily manipulated, ill-educated, misinformed voters. Over the last few Presidential Elections we have even seen some Red States go beyond literally legalising efforts to rig the voting system, to Red and Blue States threatening to leave the United States. California would be fine. Its economy is one of the biggest in the world. Texas, on the other hand, would have serious problems. Most Red States would. But Texas… Wow.
the media and general public? The same rules apply, or we enter a legal space where evidence must be provided to avoid being sued for defamation.
Like Ross Geller trying to avoid the additional cost of changing his environment, or inconvenience, harm and injury it may inflict on the friends he ropes in to help, the GOP has found itself with an idiot agenda stuck in a stairwell because he didn’t think it through and he can’t pivot. It the end, his plans fail, he wrecks it all, and he still expects to be compensated for his stupidity.
And it gets worse. If they question anything, no matter how idiotically, the ‘radical left’ is trying to silence them. If the left does it, they are malcontents, liars, and need to be silenced. But a healthy society encourages everyone to ask questions. A failure to do so leads to stagnation and decline. But, sure, there needs to be a rational basis and format for doing so.
But mainstream media isn’t guilt-free here. They have, far too often, served as an echo chamber for all the lies Fox News and its ilk have vomited forth. Instead of pushing back against the dishonesty of Trump’s pet-media, or fact checking it, they lean into it. The demise of Biden is a good example. Let’s have a look at the reality and the reporting.
And the media will turn on him for their own advantage. Mainstream purely for profits, but Fox and Fiends also to help destroy him and his family to protect themselves as they play victim to win back audience. And too few of us will be curious about it, or bipartisan in that curiosity. Bi-curious, if you will. Yeah, I did that deliberately to give intelligent folk a giggle, and irk bigoted idiots.
Pro-Trump puppet media actually helping Harris campaign
Like a fucking drum. How do we know? She already has, in every way that has any value. Harris grew up in the real world. While well-educated, her parents were both migrants, contributed a lot to the US, but divorced when Harris and her sister were small children. When Harris started kindergarten, she was part of Berkeley's comprehensive desegregation program to a public school.
Then there’s the very visible issues. Of these, the adult diaper and allegations of him shitting himself during high profile meetings are the most salacious. But then there’s the slurring of, and forgetting, words. Excessive sweating and claims the space he is in is too hot when it’s not, or he is freezing in Court rooms when nobody else is afflicted by that. And the shaking and shambling.
This, of course, is not playing well in minority groups. And now the media is giving Harris, and the MAGATS response to her, airtime… Turns out, minority groups don’t like bullies. New voters are registering. Tens of Thousands. Haley’s supporters voted supported her, not Trump, because she represented them. Now they’re shifting to Harris, a Democrat, for the same reason.
Trump has serious health issues
Just like most of the mostly old, white, male politicians and Presidents that came before him. In fact, compared to those Presidents, his ‘cognitive decline’ issues are about the same as most of those lads displayed. And compared to Trump, yikes! Trump’s behaviour and gaffs are ten, even a hundred times worse. So why don’t we talk about that? Why focus on Biden and give Trump a free pass?
Biden picked Harris because she made the perfect Vice President. She had the things he lacked. She served as a naysmith and advisor. Their relationship is almost father-daughter. Not the creepy kind like Trump and Ivanka have, but rather one of a mentor who sees someone who can pick up and carry on to preserve and improve upon his legacy. Biden trusts and respects her.
If the people were displeased with the behaviour of politicians, members of the DoJ, SCOTUS, and other agencies, or the delivery of law and order in general, then the same deal. We would see a seismic shift is politics and the power it wields. The checks and balances of the five branches of government would ensure a population feel more content, and less civil unrest stabby.

Again, unlike Trump, Obama was great because he picked the right people to work in his admin. Not sycophants. Competent people. He didn’t need to agree with them, they didn’t need to agree with him. They just had to work together to serve the interests of the country, people first. In fact, Obama thrives when he is challenged, and challenges others in return to encourage the same.
But as a prosecutor, she’s just as likely to let him hang himself and drag out all of Trump’s dirty little secrets, promising to allow the DOJ to do their job without political interference. And this would put the criminal activities of Trump, his convictions, links to Epstein, and every other allegation on display. A media feeding frenzy. If Trump was actually intelligent predator, he’d avoid risking that.
Texas has three decades of GOP rulers and campaigns on a platform of “vote for us so we can fix the mess the Democrats made”. Yeah, that stupid. They are ranked the worst State in terms of outcomes founded in basic Human Rights and an example of what happens under a corruption cult like that of Trump. But ill-education and corrupt media feeds them bullshit so they lap it up.
